From the Principal’s Desk
Dear Parents,
The Bible teaches that every good and perfect gift is from above; that is, everything wholesome and everything that meets the need for the time comes from God (James 1:17). We understand from this verse that the good physical things, for instance, that we enjoy in this life come from God. God shows His goodness to us by providing the means for our physical needs and by daily loading us with benefits.
God wants us to be thankful for what He gives us, and He wants us to be content with what He gives us. Thankfulness and contentment show our gratitude for what God has given and that our satisfaction comes from God, not things. Many people say that they are satisfied with God, but what they want is more things. What they talk about is more things. What they look to satisfy themselves is more things. This is a great contradiction.
One of the ways we show that we are thankful and content with what we have is by taking care of our things. We try to do that as a school—spend money wisely, take care of the buildings, fully use the resources we have.
We also try to teach the students the same principles—to value what they have and to appreciate what you as parents do for them. We teach them to value their food and not to throw it away because they don’t like it. We teach them to value their clothes by taking care of them, and by not throwing coats and sweaters on the ground. We teach them to value school supplies and sports equipment by guiding their proper use. All of these principles say that God gave us our possessions and that we should appreciate them.
Sincerely,
Pastor Sutton
