From the Principal’s Desk
Dear Parents,
Last week a member of our church died after a long battle with various health issues. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 24th at 10:00 a.m. in our church auditorium. Due to the nature of this event and due to the fact that the funeral and luncheon will take up the greater part of the school day, we need to cancel school on that day. There will be no classes on October 24th.
We sorrow because we miss this person and because we loved him, but the great joy and comfort come in knowing that he is with the Lord. Knowing that the Lord awaits believers when they die to receive them into Glory provides unspeakable comfort to the troubled hearts of the saved who remain. We can rejoice because Christ has removed the sting of death, which is sin. Salvation makes things right, and the goodness and grace of God make things bearable.
In terms of canceling school, we try to be very careful in the days we take off of school, knowing that a turn in the schedule can make day care plans difficult for parents. In addition, we want to give the students as much time as we can for their learning. But there are special occasions or unique situations with our church that requires time off from school. This is one of those times, a church event, and an event in which all of the teachers will be a part.
Thank you for understanding. We will have school on Monday of next week and then again on Wednesday through the end of the week.
Sincerely,
Pastor Sutton
