From The Principal’s Desk
Dear parents,
We have it nailed down. We are going to San Pablo Reservoir for Field Day. San Pablo Reservoir is a beautiful location situated east of El Sobrante at 7301 San Pablo Dam Road. The area has a picnic tables, playground equipment, a playfield, biking trails, and fishing.
There is no cost to use the facilities, but use is governed by a first come, first served policy. The people at the park tell me that Thursday should be a fairly light day. We will leave school for the park a little before 10:00am and come back sometime after 2:00pm. All families are welcome to attend, and feel free to bring younger siblings. We ask that you observe the school dress code. Students may wear P.E. attire.
If you can help us BBQ and otherwise prepare lunch, let us know. We will organize the food according to classes as we have done in years past.
1st-2nd grades – utensils (cups, plates, etc) and chips
3rd-4th grades – fruit
5th-6th grades – desserts
7th-8th grades – hamburgers, hot dogs, and buns
9th-12th grades – drinks
We do not need barbeque briquettes or condiments
Students can bring bicycles, roller skates, and scooters, balls, gloves, Frisbees, and so on. Paved trails encircle the park & picnic area. A longer trail runs parallel to the reservoir. Children under 15 years old do not need a fishing license to fish, but all fishers need a fishing permit ($4.50), however, a single permit can cover up to four people. A one-day fishing license is $14. All permits and licenses can be purchased on site.
We will need several parents to drive, especially dads with pickup trucks to transport bikes. (The daily parking fee is $6.50 per vehicle). We hope that you can come to help us enjoy Field Day.
Sincerely,
Pastor Sutton
