From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents,
First, I want to give a big thank you to the families who participated in the specialty cakes fundraiser. We set up the fundraiser with the goal of raising enough money to purchase a new Cricut machine the teachers can use when making bulletin boards and a new electronic portable scoreboard for basketball and volleyball games.
The net amount raised was over $1,250! That is enough to cover the cost of the Cricut machine and the scoreboard, and then some. I really appreciate the effort. The cakes are scheduled to arrive next Wednesday, December 16th. On that day you can pick up the cakes after school in Room 9 (by the church auditorium). Thank you again.
Second, I want to remind you that the Christmas program is this Friday night at 7:30 in the church auditorium. The 7th-12th graders will put on the drama and sing, and the 1st-6th graders will sing. We will also have some instrumental numbers.
We do these programs, as part of our overall curriculum, to develop presentation skills and poise in our students, as well as to teach them proper music and drama technique for praising the Lord and ministering for the Lord. I was involved in these kinds of programs as a young person and all throughout college, and I know they helped me and served to prepare me for what I do today.
Because of the beliefs we have at Bethel and because of our size, all of our students are able to get involved in these programs in one way or another. Different students have different strengths, but everyone can improve, for the given program and cumulatively. I am glad your students attend Bethel because I know they have an opportunity to develop their public presentation skills in a way that pleases the Lord.
Sincerely,
Pastor Sutton
