From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents:
The summer has been restful, but we are gearing up for a great school year. I hope you all have had a nice time with your families.
As I write this letter, I am reminded of the words of Deuteronomy 6:4-9, where Moses gives timeless instruction to the children of Israel. In this passage Moses reminds the people of God that they are to love God and to teach their children the same. The passage begins by saying, “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.” God is one, that is, He is unified, with no division or discontinuity. Based on the unified nature of God, our lives are to be one, unified in every area of life toward loving God, as Moses writes, with all of our heart, soul, and might. Our mouths then express the commitment of our hearts toward loving God and keeping His commandments by our teaching our children the particulars of Scripture. In order for truth to be passed on to the next generation, God has established that we offer continuous explanation of His Word and live consistent examples of Christ-likeness. I hope that you are doing this, even as following this passage reveals truth faith.
We are glad to announce that in the fall we will be joined by Miss Valerie Keller as the morning aide and afternoon teacher to the 1st and 2nd graders. Coming from a long line of teachers in the Brandenburg family, Miss Keller will do a great job working with the children. She comes to us from Lafayette, LA, where her father is a pastor. Miss Keller and my wife, Mrs. Sutton, will team teach the 1st and 2nd graders.
Just to remind you, we are selling white polo shirts for boys and girls and blue and black pants for the boys in the office. The shirts are $5 each and the pants are $10. We also have P.E. culottes for the 3rd-12th grade girls, if they need them. All clothing will be available for sale once the school office re-opens August 4.
If you need uniforms from our uniform supplier, Dennis Uniforms, you can reach them at 510-569-3811 or visit them online at dennisuniform.com. Their store address is 130 Doolittle Drive, Unit 1, San Leandro, CA 94577. Should you need it, our school code is NBCARL.
All parents with children entering 7th grade, please make sure that your child is immunized with an adolescent whopping cough booster, also called Tdap. All kindergarten students must, as well, have their immunizations up to date.
If you have not finished the registration process, please do so as soon as possible. Please do not wait until the first day of school to do this.
Thank you for your commitment to Bethel Christian Academy. Have a great rest of the summer. We will see you August 31.
Sincerely,
Pastor Sutton
